British Bass-baritone, Conductor and Organist William Jeys read music at the University of Oxford and went on to study Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Based in San Antonio, Texas, he currently serves as Director of Music & Organist at St David's Episcopal Church and as a Collaborative Pianist at Texas State University, alongside frequent engagements with Austin Opera, Opera San Antonio, Illumen, and the Chamber Choir of San Antonio.

As a soloist, he has appeared with the Hallé Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, the London and Manchester Concert Orchestras, the Oxford Festival Orchestra, and the Oxford Millennium Orchestra, with further guest solo engagements including Lichfield Cathedral Chorus, New College Opera, the North of England Festival Chorus, the San Antonio Choral Society, the Liverpool Concert Orchestra, the Lichfield Camerata, Ludlow Choral Society, the Philharmonic Choir, Coventry Cathedral, and the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble.

Critical reception has consistently highlighted his musical sensitivity and stage presence. A recent performance of Dvořák's Te Deum was praised for its "great musical sensitivity, and a full … richness of tone," while his account of the Libera me in Fauré's Requiem was described as "a masterclass in Latin/Italian diction."

William has worked with many of the United Kingdom's most distinguished liturgical foundations, including Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, Birmingham St Chad's Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, Birmingham St Philip's Cathedral, Lichfield Cathedral, Manchester Cathedral, Coventry Cathedral, Christ Church Cathedral Oxford, Magdalen College Oxford, and New College Oxford. Prior to relocating to the United States, he sang regularly with St Chad's Cathedral, Lichfield Cathedral, Ex Cathedra, Coventry Cathedral, New College Oxford, and the Birmingham Oratory, and served as one of the accompanists for Northern Ballet, as well as holding the position of Cathedral Assistant Musician at Lichfield Cathedral. He remains active in mainland Europe, and between 2024 and 2026 was regularly engaged by the Bavarian Royal Family to rehearse and perform with a sponsored choir in Sweden and Germany.

As a conductor, whilst still studying at the University of Oxford, he held the positions of Principal Conductor of the Hertford College Orchestra, Manager and Associate Conductor of the Oxford Festival Orchestra, and Director of Music of Hertford College Chapel. He went on to study Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he conducted the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Northern College of Music Symphony Orchestra, the Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oxford Festival Orchestra, the Liverpool Mozart Players, the Duet Philharmonic Orchestra, the Thallein Ensemble, and Ensemble ISIS, and has assisted conductors including Kazuki Yamada, Mike Seal, Mark Wigglesworth, Marios Papadopoulos, Vasily Petrenko, Domingo Hindoyan, Ronald Corp OBE, and Hilary Davan-Wetton.

A proud Mancunian, William was educated at The Manchester Grammar School alongside the Royal Northern College of Music during his formative years, majoring in voice, organ, conducting, piano, and trumpet. He held the position of Organ Scholar at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral during his gap year, before taking up an Organ Scholarship to Hertford College, Oxford University, before moving to Birmingham to pursue a Postgraduate degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
